In what situations is coaching normally hired?
When you’re experiencing a change in your life, or want to reach a specific professional or personal goal.
In these occasions Coaching becomes a tool to reach a deeper awareness, to trigger a series of changes and make them more effective. Some examples of situations where working with a coach can be useful: a change in your professional life or in your role, the need or will to develop new skills, if you’re about to start your own business, or if you wish to reconsider your life and focus it on your own values, or if you want to reach a better balance between private life and professional life or attain financial independence.
What does actually happen in a coaching relationship?
Coach and coachee schedule a series of sessions, according to their availability. During the coaching sessions the coach involves the coachee in a creative and reflective process, with the aim of helping him obtain the agreed results and, at the same time, bring out the best in himself. The coachee decides what issues are to be addressed in the conversations during the coaching relationship and it is the coach who has to follow the coachee’s objectives. Focusing on action is essential in the coaching process. Coach and coachee agree the modalities to reach the goals and the coach requests the coachee to commit to move forward and reach the desired results. The fact that the coachee takes responsibility for the final results is one of the elements that make coaching so effective.
How long does a coaching path last?
It usually lasts between 3 and 6 months, but it can vary depending on the client’s specific objectives.
How would you describe the approach of Life Coach Lab coaches?
Our approach is holistic and focused on reaching higher self-awareness and on an ecological and lasting transformation of mind-sets and behaviors. A mind-set is the general point of view from where we observe the world. A mind-set shapes our perceptions and our behaviors in an almost unconscious and uncontrasted way. The idea that individuals can modify their own mind-sets is extremely powerful, it means that individuals and groups can decide how to see and interpret the world around them, and that they can organize their behavior according to a new way of thinking, which can transform the environment they live in and their own relationships.
We give equal emphasis to “doing” and “being”, using the Double Star Conversation Model developed by Life Coach Lab, which includes both the situational and the transformational aspect. The coachee experiences a transformational journey that transcends the acquisition of capacities, tools and knowledge, allowing profound personal, intellectual and professional development.
What’s the difference between coaching and psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy usually deals with emotional or behavioral disturbances and destructive situations, it aims at leading the client to normal functioning, focusing on his disfunctions. On the contrary, coaching is meant to serve people with full functionality who want to reach their objectives, attain excellence and at the same time create an extraordinary life.
